Farmers enjoyed an interesting workshop about harriers in Wallonia
As part of our BNIP actions for harriers, a workshop for farmers was organised in the agricultural plain of Celles, in Hainaut.
An ornithologist from Natagora presented to the 18 participants the 3 species of harriers present in Belgium: the Western Marsh Harrier, the Montagu’s Harrier and the Hen Harrier. Agri-environment schemes favouring these species in our agricultural landscape were then presented by Natagriwal.
The participants were also very lucky during the field trip:they spotted numerous harriers. They even had the chance to observe an astonishing show of exchange of prey between male and female! What a great way to end an exciting day!
