LIFE ANIMATED has launched an animation film
LIFE Animated has launched a short animation film to introduce the general public to nature and animal species of the ‘Meetjesland’. Several Natura 2000 mascots, such as the Great crested newt and the bat, take you on a journey of discovery. This film was made thanks to the LIFE BNIP funding for innovative nature projects, of which LIFE Animated was one of the selected candidates.

But LIFE Animated has even more to offer! Schools are also invited to put together their own movie around one of the Natura 2000 mascots, with 3 great guided walks in beautiful nature reserves as the first prize. This way LIFE Animated increases the support for both the project and Natura 2000 amongst the general public. The next developments in the pipeline are digital games tours for the young and old and guided walks.

The ‘Regionale Landschap Meetjesland’ is one of the selected candidates for the LIFE BNIP pilot projects. Each of the selected candidates will develop a small-scale pilot project, which will run until the end of 2019. This way several actors such as private owners,Regional Landscape organisations, non-profit organisations and even major players such as WWF, will do the utmost to boost Natura 2000 in Belgium!
