Almost 120 enthusiasts were present at the Provinciehuis (Leuven) for the very first inspiration day Natura 2000 on Monday 5th of December 2016. The morning took a flying start under the winter sun with guided walks through four beautiful nature reserves where the European Nature directives are put in practice with success. With much enthusiasm, the skilled site managers provided the visitors with inspiring information.
The afternoon sessions resulted in pointing out some concrete and practical knowledge gaps and ideas for further implementation of Natura 2000 in the field. This provided Inverde with valuable input for the further development of their training programme.
On behalf of the minister, a word of appreciation was expressed for the work done by all attendees to reach the European conservation objectives.
