With about one hundred participants, the Kick-Off conference of LIFE BNIP took a flying start on July the 4th. During the morning sessions, an introduction to the LIFE BNIP was given and the regional actions in Flanders, Wallonia and the Federal Marine section were explained by the partners. During the afternoon several testimonies were brought from various sectors for both Flanders and Wallonia. Interesting contributions were made from which certainly some ideas and recommendations for cooperation with private companies, land owners and local authorities. We can already say that the LIFE BNIP project had a good start, thanks to the enthusiasm of all the speakers and volunteers but also thanks to the enthusiastic respons to this new project type. To use the words of Claude de Villenfagne: “Those controversies have no use. Do it right and they will follow you.”
